Copying Machine Audit
Project
This was a fast-paced, multi-phase project included analyzing an existing piece of technology to identify flaws, and then designing a better solution. I chose to analyze a copying machine.
Process
There were two primary phases to this project. In Phase 1, I mapped current workflows, ran user studies, and conducted a visual audit. In Phase 2, I analyzed the existing user interface and created wireframes for new user interface. The project was completed by presenting the project to the class and turning the entire process into a document which could then be handed in as a deliverable.
Outcome
The deliverable was a full-color bound process book broken up into 3 phases. It includes extensive workflow documents, summaries of user study results, visual audit complete with callouts, pain points, and breakdowns. It also contains prototypes, both in low and high fidelity formats. Branding and color schemes were matched where possible.
Professor Comments: “Well thought out document and well-researched.”
