Interaction Storyboard
Project
For this project, we were asked to choose a common, every-day task and create a user storyboard from it. I chose the task of making quesadillas using a George Foreman grill.
Process
I began this process by asking a participant to demonstrate how to complete the task. I recorded the steps with a series of photographs.
I then entered the design phase. I brainstormed some initial ideas for how my user might find a web and mobile component to be useful to his activities. I created a workflow diagram and built wireframes, then mocked up sample interfaces for both web and mobile devices based on my initial branding research.
Outcome
For my final presentation, I compiled the graphical records to create a storyboard for completing the task. My goal was to convey the story in such a way that people would understand the task without needed verbal or textual cues. To accomplish this, I organized the data in a warm, comic-book style format that also helped to convey the fun, simply feel of the George Foreman Grill product.
Class Comments: "Simple and easy to understand without without words."
Professor Comments: "Clearly conveyed the task at hand in a simple and very appropriate manner."
